An update on ‘life’. Yay!
My headgear doesn’t hurt anymore! *big grin* You can imagine how peaceful it is without pain, but with lots metal in my mouth! I’m not complaining though. Other then the annoying part of taking it off for meals and snacks it’s actually, truly, fine. My next othro appointment is at the end of September (oh, happy September, everyone!). I’ve been wearing the headgear (it’s actually neckgear, but it’s easier to say headgear, BTW) around 22-23 hours everyday. The minimum is 14. ;D
Areli is doing great with… everything!
This is bath-time. She’d gotten all muddy from walking around when it was raining. Did I mention she hates bathes?
Attempting escape. Poor Areli. Pulled back into the tub after attempt #4.
But other then an occasional bath, she’s a very happy girl. The goats and her are slowly progressing to being comfortable around each other. Areli is very excited around them, and they’re very scared. Fiddlesticks’s, our oldest, three-legged Nigerian Dwarf goat has the ‘lucky’ spot in Areli’s (or the “people” part) part of the barn. From being in this spot, Fiddlesticks has gotten pretty used to Areli playing by her and standing or laying pretty close to her. Success! With one goat anyway.
The goats are all doing pretty good, not talking about having the newcomer around at every milking and in the pasture sometimes. All the babies are doing great. Gingham, our LAST (oh how’d it go so fast?) pregnant doe, is due in 8 days. WOW. After her, we’ll have to wait another YEAR for more births! Gingham’s birthing HAS to go well, and her babies NEED to be healthy. She’s ending tGingham’s belly, one kid is expected.
The ducks…. are LOVING the stormy weather!
They are getting so adventurous, and journeying (on their own) where they never have before! Ever since the day of rain we’ve got, they’re going out to forage. Yay!!!!
Feeding them is kinda hard, seeing as they never stay in one spot long enough. LOL They’re all molting right now. Addie has lost her flight feathers, so she’s confined to the ground. Bug loves to fly. She’s tried the house roof, the barn roof, the garage roof, and the porch roof. Oh, and the rafters in the barn.
